VNG Teacher Spotlight: Valerie Cotrone-Fonseca
Valerie Cotrone-Fonseca received the award for Social Studies Teacher of the Month for May. Valerie is a 6th-Grade World Cultures teacher at Sprague Middle School at Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. She was chosen for Teacher of the Month because of her innovative work integrating the VNG into her district's learning management system. Valerie uses the VNG to help her students, and then looks beyond her four walls to help familiarize other teachers with the VNG and understand how it can get all students talking about academic content. This summer, Valerie has worked with her district as a curriculum writer, where she has had an even larger impact on student-centered, discussion-rich instruction at schools across Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Valerie says, "I love Visual Non-Glossary and have enjoyed watching it grow to fit the needs of our students."
